The limited-edition tube pack for Bin 28 lets our deep-sea visuals take prominent position. Again, this visually disruptive pack encourages consumers to dive into the Penfolds brand.

First made in 1959 by Max Schubert. Penfolds oldest wine in the “Bin” range. The name Kalimna was removed from V19 to better reflect the sourcing.

Lauded for its terrific value in the Penfolds range, always delivering on price and quality. A benchmark wine. Embodies Penfolds DNA, approachability on release but with a cellaring potential of 20+ years. Shares much in common with Grange: shiraz sourced from premium warm climate regions, fermented in the same manner and matured in American oak. The obvious difference is the fruit quality, the net is cast wider for Bin 28 than it is for our flagship, and the oak is mostly seasoned, not all new as is for Grange.

Maturation in mostly seasoned American oak hogsheads adds to the aromatics and textural allure of the wine.

    Tasting Notes :

Colour: Black ruby plum. Magenta rim with black core Nose: Expect a generous kaleidoscope of warm-climate aromatics. Blackcurrant, black plum, ironstone, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, cola. Chocolate gateau, adorned with candied cherries. Earthy North African spices. Palate: Always honest, warm, and approachable. Chocolate mud cake is dense, rich, and opulent. Cinnamon syrup poached red cherries, coconut shavings, milk chocolate. Sweet, layered fruit with earthy spices. Mouthcoating, chewy tannins. Cherry pip acidity.
