Born in China, Seiichi Saito grew up in Japan before going to France to learn the profession of the winegrower. This Burgundy wine enthusiast then began training in oenology in Beaune, which enabled him to work for prestigious estates. After ten years in the Burgundy vineyard and a solid experience, Seiichi Saito decides to stand on his own feet and settles in Chorey lès Beaune; the Petit Roy estate was born in 2016. Today Seiichi Saito has a bit more of a hectare of vines on the Petit Roy estate, which he supplements with a little renting and purchase of perfectly selected grapes.

Tasting Notes
The infusion style for these reds creates great aromatic intensity here, adding both savoury and sweet spice notes. On the palate the wine is bursting with bright cherry and strawberry fruit but betrays no trace of over ripeness or heaviness and the sense of minerality is undeniable. This word gets thrown around a lot these days but this is truly energetic and a great pleasure.
