The Geantet-Pansiot estate was founded in 1954 when Edmond Geantet married Bernadette Pansiot and the newlyweds started to make wine on 7 acres of vineyard spread on both Gevrey-Chambertin and Bourgogne designations. The domaine has steadily grown over the years, with the acquisition of 10 additional acres in Gevrey-Chambertin in 1991, and a few more plots since then in Chambolle-Musigny and Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru. Also, with each passing generation, the Geantet-Pansiot family has been careful to update its facilities with regular renovations of their winery.

Tasting Notes
The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Le Poissenot is open and generous on the nose with lively redcurrant, raspberry and undergrowth scents. There is a candied note here, lending it femininity and personality. The palate has a gentle grip on the entry. There is fine structure here, an abiding symmetry in the mouth with a long and tender finish.
