Established in 1803, Domaine Parent, located in Pommard, in the heart of Côte d’Or, is today run by Anne Parent and her sister Catherine Fages-Parent, representing the 12th generation, and perpetuating a family tradition dating back to the 17th century. Wines of all levels are produced, from Premiers and Grands Crus, mainly red wines. Passionate about biodynamics since before it took off, inspired by the avant-garde approach of their father, Jacques Parent, his technical precision and his gastronomic friendships, they cultivate a lively and natural approach to Burgundy wines. Tasting Notes :
Moderate wood stops short of being invasive on the agreeably spicy and markedly floral nose of earth, leather and dark berries. There is excellent volume and richness to the delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess first-rate depth and persistence. This balanced effort is robust but not really rustic and is a wine that should amply repay extended cellaring yet be approachable after 6 to 8.
