Horse Grooming
The act of grooming improves circulation in the horse's skin and stimulates the production of natural oils for a healthy sheen to the horse's coat. Get a hands-on experience of grooming a horse or pony under the guidance of equine professionals at STCRC. Activities include:

• Attach the head collar to a horse/pony
• Learn safe leading techniques
• Hands-on horse/pony grooming session

Saddling Up
Watch the experts at work and try your hand at putting on the equipment needed for riding a horse or pony. Fitting the horse's tack correctly is essential for its well-being and safety. You will learn the following:

• Understand different equipment used for horse/pony riding
• Fitting of equipment on horse/pony
• Hands-on horse-riding equipment fitting and removing session

Horse Riding
After a short briefing and fitting of safety gear,  saddle up for your horse riding experience in a well-managed and safe environment at the world-class arena purpose-built for the Youth Olympics Game equestrian event. You will get to experience the following: 

• Proper way to approach the horse/pony
• How to perform safety check before mounting
• Process of mounting horses
• Fundamentals of steering, sitting correctly, and holding the reins
• Dismount and clean the horse/pony after riding

Horseshoe Art Workshop
Upcycle used horseshoes and give them a new lease of life in a hydro-dipping session which transforms them into vibrant art pieces that you can take home as an added good luck charm.

Things to Note
Children 5 years of age or older are welcomed to ride. Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

For the welfare of the horses and riders’ safety, the recommended weight limit for riders is 75kg. Riders must have a reasonable level of fitness.
Underlying health conditions must be disclosed for safety reasons.

Rider Attire*:

• Comfortable shirt with sleeves, e.g. Polo/T-shirt.
• Comfortable full-length pants/trousers. No shorts or ¾ pants allowed.
• Long/short riding boots or stout shoes with a small heel. No sport shoes, trainers or sneakers allowed. Approved boots and helmets are available just for your use.
• A helmet must be worn at all times during riding lessons.
• Riders with long hair must have their hair tied back.
• No dangling jewelleries, including earrings are permitted.

*Riders who are assessed to be improperly attired by STCRC's instructors will not be permitted to ride.

Rules for the STCRC Arena:

• No running, playing and loud noises
• No sudden movement near kickboard/railing when horses are in the arena
• No balloons and umbrellas
• No throwing of objects into the arenas; all litter are to be thrown into dustbins provided
• No food and drinks
• Flash photography is strictly prohibited
• Unsupervised feeding of horses is is strictly prohibited
• All mobile phones to be switched to silent or vibration mode
• All visitors must be accompanied at all times

SMM:

• Check-in (immediately upon arrival) and check-out (upon leaving premises) via TraceTogether app or token;
• Face masks to be worn at all times, only fully vaccinated riders are allowed to unmask when riding;
• Safe distancing to be practised at all times, riders should not linger in the yard before and after lessons; and
• Accompanying family members or friends are not to enter the yards but are to wait at the admin building or Cheval.
