                Continuing a long tradition of Tokyo's glass-blowing craftsmanship, Hirota Glass is now in its fourth generation of dedication to fine glassware. A family-owned business founded in 1899, the Japanese company focuses on the manufacture of glass using the 'aburidashi' technique, whereby the inclusion of bone ash and a precise process of rapidly heating and cooling at the time of moulding imparts an opalescent finish to the glass.
