Are memories edible?

Relive your own memories of instant noodles, this beloved snack, through a hundred and one stories by people from all walks of life. Stories to curl up and read about from household names, professionals, artistes, entrepreneurs, chief executives, students, people who love what they do and do what they love.

Instant Comfort: A Collective Memory celebrates instant noodles in all their curly-wurly glory, swathed in fragrant steam. We hope they bring to mind your own stories from childhood, army days, midnight suppers, love, and afternoon delights.

This book belongs in any home whose inhabitants depend on noodle comfort, that instant hug, the cheap and cheerful tummy filler.

Background to the Book: The book was inspired by an observation on panic buying during the Circuit Breaker in April 2020 where instant noodle flew off supermarket shelves and became a common denominator that bound peoples from all walks of life. It serves as a repository for the community to share a moment from their life around the simple instant noodle. The result is 101 voices that represent the diversity of Singapore featuring heart-warming, humorous and life-affirming stories with this humble snack as a talking point. Net proceeds from the sale of the book will go towards The Business Times Budding Artists Fund.
