THE SINGLETON GLEN ORD 42 SINGLE MALT WHISKY
- Product Weight
- 0 kg
The oldest of The Singleton distilleries and the only Highlander in the family, Glen Ord is the product of the White Burn’s water and the Black Isle’s barley. But this beautifully rich Single Malt Scotch Whisky is anything but grey – zinging instead with the vibrancy of dark berries, cherries and blackcurrants.
Tasting Notes
- Appearance : Bright amber with copper highlights and light beading
- Nose : A mild nose-feel and profoundly rich, dense and fruity aroma—peaches and mangos in syrup, maraschino cherries—on a light almond oil base. Growing hints of candle wax as the aromas grow ever richer, with some barley sugar sweetness.
- Palate : Smooth, lightly oily and cooling. Pronounced sweetness to start then a balancing hint of salt, which later evolves into a light herbal astringency. Gently drying and delicately coating, always with an appealing oaky-spicy note and astoundingly vigorous for its advanced age.
- Finish : Long, slightly bitter, warming and noticeably drying with a thread of scented wood smoke. Trace of waxiness at the end as well. Water introduces a surprisingly salty note and a lightly cooling, menthol aftertaste.
ABV : 49.3%
