One of New Zealand’s top wine critics, Master of Wine, Bob Campbell, tastes almost every wine released in New Zealand so scoring the highest rating for a Rosé is a real achievement. He describes the wine as “Pretty rosé with moderately intense floral, red rose, raspberry, crushed strawberry and very subtle spicy flavours. A delicious wine that has been made with a light touch. Impeccable purity and balance. It has a long, lingering finish”. Limited stocks only.
Spectacularly located on the edge of Lake Dunstan in the Bendigo sub-region of Central Otago, the 57-hectare single-vineyard Misha’s Vineyard estate provides optimal conditions for producing world-class Pinot Noir and aromatic white varieties and was named one of New Zealand's Top 20 Wine Producers (Decanter, UK).
MISHA'S VINEYARD 'THE SOLOIST' - PINOT ROSE - CENTRAL OTAGO - 2019
- Product Weight
- 1.3 kg
For the past four years, Misha’s Vineyard has produced a Pinot Noir Rosé, which generally sells out within just a few months. The fruit for this wine is from the Misha’s Vineyard single-estate where certain blocks are designated for the Pinot Noir that will be made in the Rosé style. The 2019 vintage was a particularly good one and this vintage has really produced a delicious classic dry Rosé but with plenty of palate weight and flavour. This is a wine that pairs with just about everything – or enjoy the wine by itself!
Intensely aromatic with an array of fruits including cranberry, raspberry, watermelon and strawberry, this dry Rosé has a fresh but gentle palate which lingers with hints of anise. The Pinot Noir fruit for this wine was cropped at 4.5 tonnes a hectare and was all destemmed and crushed with the juice in contact with the skins for approx. 24 hours to extract colour and flavour and then it went through a cool fermentation. The style of winemaking ensures plenty of varietal character and fruit purity. The wine is 13.5% alcohol.
100% Pinot Noir.
