From selected premium blocks on the vineyard, this Pinot Noir has more concentration, having luxuriated in French oak for 16 months and then aged before release so that it drinks perfectly.

MISHA'S VINEYARD 'VERISMO' - PINOT NOIR - CENTRAL OTAGO - 2014

The fruit for this Reserve level wine, Verismo, comes from some small blocks on the single-estate of Misha’s Vineyard where the vines are carefully manicured throughout the growing season to ensure the vines only ripen a small crop which increases the quality and intensity. Verismo is released only when it has just started to enter its drinking window and although the 2012 is drinking superbly now, it will still comfortably age for at least another 5+ years. Pair with duck or pork dishes but this is also a great wine with Asian vegetarian dishes with dried black mushrooms – and fantastic with an Italian mushroom risotto.
Medium-dark red, this Pinot Noir has a bouquet of Turkish delight, chocolate and plum with a palate of concentrated sweet red fruits and fine tannins. Whilst attractive in its youth this wine will evolve gracefully for many years. The grapes were hand-picked at 5 tonnes per hectare. After a year, the winemaker selects only the superior barrels and blends from French oak hogsheads with 44% new oak. The wine was not filtered prior to bottling in December 2013 and it is 13.5% alc.
