This bowl is inspired by a Japanese traditional toy, a spinning top called “KOMA” which is known as a symbol of good fortune. To achieve a high level of stability, the bowl part has been designed in the shape of KOMA which provides a low center of gravity. And we chose the full-flat foot for more well-balanced shape of this bowl.

The surface is coated by a clear nano-glass coating to keep visible the beautiful wood skin and to make products more durable and easier to wash.

This product is made by Shozu Shikko who works as Kijishi, wood-turner, in a traditional lacquer-work production region called Yamanakashikki in Ishikawa, Japan.
