This vineyard is spread by a clay-limestone at the north and a sand clay-soil at the north east. The soil is composed in majority of "crasse de fer" and a kind of ferruginous soft sand stone. The average age is 33 years. Thanks to this terroir, this Saint-Emilion Grand Cru owns a fresh and fruity character.
Strengthened by his family history and his experience, Alexandre de Malet Roquefort purchased Château Armens in 1999. Wishing to rebuild the personality of this Grand Cru, he committed large investments to modernising vinification techniques and refine the ageing of the wine. 25 hectares are worked by the teams from Domaines Comte de Malet Roquefort.
La Fleur d’Armens is the second wine of the property.
