Jean-Louis Trapet of the famous Gevrey-Chambertin domain found his counterpart in his wife, Alsatian native Andree. Another bold winemaker who inherited her family's vines in the villages of Beblenheim and Riquewihr, Andree with her husband and children take best advantage of their native terroirs with their trailblazing natural viticulture and biodynamic farming. As in Burgundy, their Alsace vineyards are 100% Demeter certified. Trapet's holdings include some of the top Grand Crus such as Schlossberg, Sporen, Sonnenglanz and Schoenenbourg. They work with multiple varieties including Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Auxerrois and Pinot Noir. Andree's style tends to favor dryer wines with the emphasis on fruit purity, finesse and elegance, to accentuate their excellent terroirs.

Tasting Notes :
Color: Muted purple red with violet reflections.
Nose: A cool and animating abundance of dark berries and sour cherries combine with graphite, dark flowers, undergrowth, leather, beetroot and a hint of truffle and pepper. The Chapelle 1441 rouge also showcases Trapet's clear, fresh and precise style beautifully.
Palate: On the palate, a seductive raspberry note flashes in combination with animating acidity, an extremely fine tannin, this cool, fresh and extremely animating structure we have already perceived in the nose. A particularly fine Pinot, which does not need to shy away from the comparison with the representatives from Burgundy. Each sip animates to another one.
