The Domaine is situated in Beaune in buildings full of history, dating from the 16th century. The winery name "Bellene" comes from the name of the city of Beaune. In the first century of our era, our town Beaune was called "Belena" referring to the God of the Sun "Belenos". Then the city’s name “Belena” changed into "Beaulne" and finally became Beaune. This shows our desire to make the Domaine de Bellene a reference in Burgundy wines.
