Domaine Guigal was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis, a small ancient village and cradle of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. It is home to a unique vineyard where vines and wine have been celebrated for 2400 years. Since the summer of 2003, Maison Guigal, determined to always improve its knowledge of wine and its immediate environment, has embarked on a brand new adventure: cooperage. This artisanal and ancestral work ensures an additional technical mastery in the charm of the historic setting of the Château d'Ampuis.

Tasting Notes
Visual: Black red color with very dark reflections.
Olfactory: Small black fruits, leather, liquorice and aromas of roasting and oriental spices. Powerful aromatic intensity.
Taste: Powerful entry into the mouth and massive tannin structure. Lots of richness and focus. Strong expression of the terroir.
Overall: This very long-lived wine, massive and concentrated, has a rare intensity of flavor and color.
