The sunflower earrings are inspired by Van Gogh’s paintings and were created for the National Gallery.
Vincent van Gogh was famous for his paintings of sunflowers and they have now become synonymous with his name. He began painting them after he left Holland for France in pursuit of creating an artistic community. The first ones were created to decorate his friend Paul Gauguin's bedroom in the so-called "Yellow House" that they were renting in Arles in the South of France.
The earrings are cast in bronze with yellow enamel and hand applied gold leaf, accented with amber. The wires are 925 silver.
